Bergamot essential oil is one of the many citrus oils. Just inhaling it gives you a feeling of calm with its relaxing and uplifting aroma.
Uses of Bergamot Essential Oil- Place a few drops of Bergamot essential oil on a cotton ball and inhale to give your spirits a lift.
- Use a few drops in a water-based diffuser to freshen the air in your living or work space.
- Create a spray with 2oz of water and 15 drops of Bergamot for cleaning bath and kitchen surfaces or to freshen the air.
- Use as an inhalation for opening the heart after grieving.
- Aroma brings happiness and peace to the spirit.

History and BackgroundThis oil takes its name from the town of Bergamot in Northern Italy. It's has been used since the 16th Century in France and is mentioned in many old texts.
In Chinese medicine, cool/dry action, wood element, smooths flow of Qi, harmonizes Liver Qi, releases and circulates stagnant Stomach and Intestinal Qi. Psychologically, encourages release of pent-up emotions, especially unexpressed anger, redirects unproductive or addictive behavior to rediscover spontaneity and optimism, relax and let go. Effective when the gate of consciousness/love is opened. Balancer between survival and the higher plane enlightenment. Effective on the 4th chakra, but not as strong as rose.
In magical practices, used to attract money and for protection.
Physical DescriptionBergamot oil is light greenish-yellow color with liquid consistency.
Aromatic DescriptionAroma is sweet, fruity, fresh, citrus, green, slightly floral with spicy-balsamic undertone.
Biological Makeup and ComponentsLinalyl acetate (30-60%), linalol (11-22%). Over 300 chemical constitutes including alcohols, sesquiterpenes, terpenes, alkanes, furocourmarins including bergapten (0.3-0.39%).
Extraction TechniqueCold pressed from the peel of almost ripe fruit.
Information for AromatherapistsBergamot is a top note that blends well with lavender, neroli, jasmine, cypress, geranium, lemon, chamomile, juniper, coriander, violet. Contained in many perfume blends.
Our Bergamot essential oil is 100% pure and natural. It is free of any chemicals, pesticides, synthetic perfumes, fillers, or carrier oils.
Cautions- Can cause hyperpigmentation from sun. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or sunbed for 12 hours following application of diluted essential oil to skin. Do not use neat on skin, can cause sun spots.
- Never used undiluted. Can cause skin irritation.
- For external use only. Do not ingest.
