Palmarosa is a tropical grass native to India. This grass is herbaceous and will remind you of Lemongrass and Citronella. It is frequently used to adulterate Rose oil and is widely used in perfumery.
Not a well-known oil, Palmarosa deserves a place in an aromatherapist's chest. It is to your benefit to become more familiar with Palmarosa and its history.
Uses of Palmarosa Essential Oil- Palmarosa is a perfect oil to diffuse at home, with its comforting properties and clean scent.

- A few drops in massage oil or cream, adds a soothing effect to massage.

History and BackgroundIn Chinese Medicine, Palmarosa is cool and moist in energy. It also clears heat and strengthens yin energy, reinforces the heart yin and calms the mind.
We do not know when this plant was first distilled into an essential oil, but once it reached Europe, it was used in perfumery and skin care, including many soaps and facial products.
An interesting fact is that Palmarosa was once used as a flavoring for tobacco.
Holistically, Palmarosa encourages adaptability and feelings of security, while centering and comforting the heart. Good oil for those who are resistant to change and have difficulty letting go.

Information for AromatherapistsPalmarosa oil is a middle note that blends well with Amyris, Basil, Bergamot, Cananga, Cedarwood, Fennel, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Mandarin, Neroli, Orange, Pine, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang. Use small amounts in blends.

This is not an oil that I was familiar with until I purchased it three months ago. One way I use this oil to anoint candles to be used in healing workings. It is rejuvenating and reminds me of Springtime.
